Winter in Dalyan
Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 12:24AM Just got back from a weeks break to charge the batteries. Dalyan is a totally different place in the winter, only the locals and ex pats remain, Which, in a nice sort of way, makes it even more relaxing. There's no hussle and bussle life is even slower, nothing is a problem. There are enough restaurants shops and bars open to keep everyone happy. The weather was fantastic , sunny every day , it was warm enough for tee shirts and when the sun went down you just chucked on a fleece . All the restaurants have open fires which are very welcoming as well as warming, our favourite bar Leons didnt have an open fire but after a couple of Rakis , who cared.
These 2 are our good friends Taffy and Miriam. Taffy is a welsh turk who has a really cool retaraunt right in the middle of town. He does a really fabulous lamb dish , whole leg of lamb slow cooked , the meat just falls apart its so tender (24 hours notice needed) .
another beautiful day by the river...
